Coming from a family full of nurses, Charlotte always had a heart for serving others. She was born and raised in Lufkin, TX, attending Lufkin ISD and enjoying Horseback Riding, Basketball, Girl Scouts, and church activities. Due to the transfer of her father's job, she left Lufkin in her high school years, moving to Kingwood, TX.
After graduating, she earned her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Prairie View A&M University, School of Nursing in the Texas Medical Center in Houston in 1999. During the first 12 years of her nursing career, Charlottesought out experience in multiple areas of nursing across the lifespan These areas included Labor and Deliver, Newborn and High Risk Nursery, Pediatric ER, Clinic, and General Pediatric Unit. She also spent time on a Medical Surgical/Cardiac adult unit, visited home patients through Geriatric Home Health, and Hospice work, and served as an Elementary School Nurse. A large portion of this time was spent with uninsured and medically under-served populations in Houston.
Gaining experience in multiple areas of nursing prepared her for graduate school and reaching her goal of becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner. She attended the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, earing her Masters of Science in Nursing in 2012. After becoming certified, she worked her first four years in Family and Internal Medicine office practices, gaining invaluable experience treating acute and chronic medical conditions, providing preventative health care, and patient education. The next four years were spent working with home-bound elderly and debilitated patients in their homes and healthcare facilities. During the COVID 19 pandemic, she worked to meet her community's needs bringing House-call and Telehealth visits to patients in her community.
Charlotte and her husband, Andrew longed to escape the hustle and bustle of the Houston area. They made plans to relocate their family to East TX to enjoy a slower paced life. In January of 2023, they made the leap of faith and moved to Huntington, opening Hometown Health & Wellness of Texas. Their son Cole currently attends Huntington High School, daughter Brady is a Registered Nurse working in a local Lufkin Hospital, and future son in law Matthew works in Car Audio in Lufkin. When not working, the family loves spending time outdoors, fishing, watching sports, especially the Astros and spending time at their family Camp House in the Manning Area of Huntington. They have become active members of a local church in Huntington, and Charlotte serves as a board member of the Huntington Business Owners Association and the City of Huntington Economic Development Corporation. The family has loved becoming involved in their new community and hope to continue to find ways to positively contribute to the City of Huntington and the people who call it home.
Charlotte is excited to continue her career serving patients in Huntington and the surrounding areas. Her goal is to make a long-term impact breaking generational cycles of poor health, reducing health disparities, and improving the overall wellness of her community by increasing access to affordable quality healthcare.
